In the autumn of 2026, we will establish operations in Umeå.

We are now looking for three senior physicians for the new office, which will be centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River.

At the medical assessment unit in Umeå, senior physicians, psychologists, nurses, and administrators work together with our case handlers. We work together to achieve our common goals, where we take responsibility for both our own work and for each other.

Your responsibilities

As a senior physician with us, you will conduct medical examinations and assessments of candidates for training and employment within the Armed Forces and with other clients within total defense, such as the Police Authority.

Your work is part of a common assessment chain, which means that you do not have scheduled visits but solve the day's tasks in collaboration with others.

Your responsibilities also include:

• handling and assessing supplementary certificates
• answering questions from the public and candidates
• participating in and having shared responsibility for medical development work related to the agency's various assignments

The work and methods have a high degree of structure. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy a structured working style.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed physician with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare
• has specialist competence in a clinical specialty that we deem appropriate
• has a couple of years of experience in your specialty

Your personal qualities

We are looking for someone who works well with others and has the ability to relate to people in a responsive and smooth manner. It is also important that you have a good understanding of how different people absorb information and knowledge.

You have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in change. You have a holistic perspective, are meticulous, and are well aware of quality requirements and standards.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent position that begins with a probationary period.

Due to the nature of the operations, you cannot work from home, but we hope that this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. We offer you at least 28 days of vacation up to 35 days depending on age. You also have the opportunity to train for 2 hours during work hours per week and are offered a favorable wellness allowance.
